Highland Park - 40 YEAR OLD "Spring 2019 Release" Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Full-bodied, wonderfully balanced, this truly remarkable 40-year-old single malt whisky is deep and aromatic with a subtle sweetness, made from just five refilled casks placed before 1979. The casks were assembled in 2008 and filled with the first – sherry-flavored American oak barrels that enhance the flavor of the ripened whiskey during a 10-year maturation period.

The refilled casks that originally contained the whisky are ideal for slow maturation over long periods of time, while the flavored casks filled with sherry for the first time allow the whisky to mature in it, bringing a rich signature and nutty, fruity sherry aroma.
